We have had a great weekend around here. Lots of visitors and good food. We had originally planned to go to San Jose and be with my mom for Thanksgiving, but once Kai was born we knew that drive would be a little too far in one day with the tiny guy. So plan B was to join Mark's family up closer to us for Thanksgiving dinner but... Thursday morning we got a call from Mark's sister, she had been to the doctor the night before and found out she had strep throat! Needless to say, newborn babies and strep throat don't mix, so we decided to stay home and have Thanksgiving just the five of us (me, Mark, Kai and the dogs). We got a small rotisserie chicken and whipped up some mashed potatoes and gravy, it was a good day. We also spent a lot of time (like we do everyday) feeling incredibly grateful for our new family member.
This year we are thankful for many blessings in our lives including our wonderful family and friends, Kai's birth family, our dogs and our health, but most of all more than anything else, we are thankful for this little guy. He is the best. We took advantage of the beautiful day and did a quick little photo shoot on the front porch.

This was the last shot we took and you can see Kai was tired of having his picture taken :) - yawn
We also got our Christmas tree this weekend, Kai is celebrating the Christmas spirit by wearing his santa hat! That's our tree behind us, Kai approved.
