As the year comes to a close I am so grateful for all the joy we experienced this holiday season. Although we had our fair share of colds and flu (thanks to no more masks) we still managed to squeeze the goodness out of this magical season. Mark and Cruz had fun at Kristen and Bob's house for Thanksgiving while Kai and I rested and recovered at home from the flu. Then over Christmas we welcomed Tutu for a couple nights and had a fun Christmas Eve making and decorating sugar cookies and eating fondue. It was nice to be together again in a way that hasn't been as possible these last couple years with the pandemic.
Christmas Morning was awesome, as always, with lots of gifts and holiday cheer, then in the evening we went over to Kristen and Bob's again for the traditional Christmas dinner. The boys had fun watching and playing with the big boys - Nello and his cousin (Bob's sister's son) RJ. They had a blast throwing the football around in the backyard.
For New Years Eve we decided (thanks to Kai) to revive an idea from the past and make fun paper hats. We were going to get dressed up and go out for some food at Denny's just for fun but because Mark was still fighting off a cold we decided to get take out instead. This was the first year both boys stayed up until midnight and we celebrated with poppers and by going out on the porch and shouting "Happy New Year!" for the entire neighborhood to hear.
I am so proud of our boys. They both have big hearts, creative spirits and tons of energy. Cheers to more adventures in 2023!
