Kai has a new bedtime routine, we start with a bath, then move into the bedroom where we say night night to his pictures on the wall and whichever parent isn't putting him to bed (we have started alternating who puts him to bed because he started to get a little attached to mommy since we spend all day together and was having some crying sessions when I would leave - alternating bedtime seems to have helped, so that's good news!) after he says night night to everyone, then he "blows" the light out. Blowing the light out is a little trick we learned at Kai's music class where at the end of class the teacher counts to three then when the kids blow she flips the light out, so we carried it over to bath and bedtime and Kai gets a kick out of it, although he's such a smarty pants he has totally figured out it's us turning the light off. The other night he tried to flip the switch himself!
After we blow the light above his crib out and have said good night to everyone, we settle in for a bottle, then some stories. The past couple nights before we blow the lights out he has been pointing to his blue dog stuffed animal who we have named Otto. Tonight he wanted both Otto and Otto Jr. (we are working on a more creative name for the little guy - suggestions? email me!) Mark snapped a photo of Kai snuggling his two blue dogs while drinking his milk. It doesn't get much cuter, look at him peeking out between the dogs! ha ha ha!
