Dog park!

I brought the dogs with me to pick Kai up from school the other day, which lead to an impromptu visit to the dog park!!

It's all about the solar system

Kai is still super interested in the solar system and outer space, so this morning just for fun I decided to create a little game. Kai woke up to an egg hunt. Inside each egg was a sticker I made for each of the planets and other solar system goodies...then I wrote up clues and once Kai had collected all the stickers he picked a clue from the bowl then found the sticker correlating to the clue and put it on his solar system paper (a big piece of black paper). Then we decorated the solar system once all the stickers were in place. It was really fun! This picture shows our final result :)

The Solar System project update!

If you saw the post about my birthday yesterday you saw a few pics at the end about a project we started as a family last weekend for a new solar system mobile for Kai's room. Kai is super into space and our solar system. He can name all the planets and how many moons each planet has. We have been checking out a bunch of books from the library and all learning about space! Well here is an updated picture of the mobile from this afternoon... we have the planets laid out, still making some final adjustments and the asteroid field and Saturn's rings are new additions :)

Fun Birthday Weekend!

I had a super fun birthday weekend around home with the family and thought I would share a few pics! :)

Our first adventure was to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, I had never been and it was AWESOME!! 

 Absolutely amazing aquatic environments to explore and appreciate :)

 A mind blowing lecture about out solar system, have we mentioned how into space Kai is. His interest has reminded me of how into it I am about thinking of astronomy! Like I told Kai have have been around the sun 42 times now! :)

 Next stop was the Sonoma Coast... a lot of little steps to get down to this tiny rock beach.

 Jenna and Kai do crafts all the time, I did not realize what an awesome painter he has become. Kai was in charge of the Sun, Mars and Pluto :) More pics when it is up...

 

Donuts!!!

A rare but fun treat this morning, Kai was SO excited. He got the one with the most sprinkles he could find! And then ate the top off!!! Ha ha ha!
